Doesn't He take care of His own?

Saturday 20th September 2008

This was the first time I went to a meeting at Dretchi without Aunty Olga. Somebody say "BUT GOD". Well we went to Dretchi safely and all returned home safely. My testimony today is about how God provided transportation.

First of all, Aunty Olga and Uncle Elred (her husband) are the only people allowed to drive the church van where transportation for the Deaf is concerned. However, neither of them were in the country and even though there are some Deaf persons who could drive, the church's policy still stands.

Anyway, I spoke to the Secretary at church and she told me that she would have to contact the drivers from the church to see if they would be able to transport us to Port of Spain for the meeting. In the meanwhile, everyone kept reminding me about transportation and even though I was uncertain about it I kept telling them not to worry and as time drew closer a driver was not yet forthcoming. I really did not know what to do or think. I simply told them to organise amongst themselves and see if transportation by way of car pooling through relatives and friends could be done.

I spoke to Pastor Mark about this concern and shortly after he eased my concerns by letting me know that if a driver was unavailable, they would charter a maxi to take us there. I felt so relieved that something could be done! lol I was beginning to feel that I would not have been successful and I really did not want that. When I saw their questioning faces asking how are we getting there, I knew that it would be difficult to tell them I really dont know lol.

Well alls well that ends well. The Secretary at church informed me that she had to contacted one of the drivers but his wife will contact him and let us know if he would be available since they had now returned from another country. When the Secretary called again and mentioned the driver's name, I forgot all formality and repeated his name emphatically - "Mr Cleavon Joseph! lol I know him! He is my neighbour!"

Small world? Smaller than we could imagine. When I spoke to Mr Cleavon on the way to the meeting, his testimony was even more interesting. He told me that while he was overseas, he and his wife met Aunty Olga and Uncle Elred! Could he have known that that meeting was just a prefiguration to the affliations he now enjoys with Agape? I dont think so. But God knew and He was weaving his mastermind plan together...He still is!

Oopsie! I published this post but after reviewing the pictures I remembered how Mr Cleavon had been a tremendous blessing on that day! I cant help but wonder if another driver would have extended such pleasantries and kind courtesies towards us? I thank God for him!

Well, first of all we arrived a bit too early for the meeting and the gate was closed. When everyone stated that they wanted to get lunch, he headed towards Movie Towne without hesitation! When we sat to eat lunch he told me that he was glad he came. He had been battling whether or not he should come but he decided to come because he knew that God's work must be done! Amen! He told me that he needed the experience and he realised how much he takes for granted.

When we finally got to the meeting, he patiently waited for it to finish. I must admit that it was a long meeting... Nevertheless, Mr Cleavon never complained. Even more, he went the extra mile (literally) to ensure that everyone was home safely. He was supposed to drop everyone back to the church carpark but he dropped everyone as near to home as possible and even went to Fyzabad and Siparia.

Doesn't God take care of His own? Then why should I fuss and worry?
