Today I showed some of the Deaf some popular smileys and short forms that they could use while texting. It was an entertaining and fun experience!! Christopher seemed very knowledgeable on this topic and he helped me explain each symbol. The way he distorted his face to demonstrate and dramatise each smiley was very funny!
Some of the Deaf were very intrigued by the symbols and it was something very precious to see their faces light up as they began to understand what each one meant! What could make me happier than seeing those faces glow with insight and amusement!!
It was a good day.
