When I met the Deaf today I was happy to know that Navita recovered from Dengue. For some time she was unwell and I thanked God that He answered our prayers and healed her!
That evening, while travelling home with Rayon, he showed me some of his drawings. I was very impressed by his talent. That day I went home thinking that it would be wise to find out the various skills and talents among the group and try to develop and perfect these gifts. Immediately I remembered what the Word of God says.
Proverbs 18:16 "A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men"
At that moment I was keen on helping these Precious people to stir up the gift that God has placed within them. It did not matter whether they are deaf or blind or handicapped. Each of them has something special and unique to offer the world. I was fixed on helping them realise their potential and their purpose.
Did Beethoven's blindness stop him from composing music and becoming a great pianist?
Did Helen Keller's blindness and deafness hinder her from learning? She was the first deafblind person to graduate from college, she was a poet and author. I pray that I like Anne Sullivan would be able to help those who did not start with the same opportunities that most did. May God grant me the wisdom to do so.
"Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood" Helen Keller
