On this day, Shevon, Ian and I were scheduled to have a meeting with Brother Nico Doelman of SIL International. (To learn more about SIL Internation, visit their website at http://www.sil.org/) Aunty Olga was not in the country and Pastor Mark was on vacation so I had to facilitate the meeting lol. I laugh because I remember when the meeting was being arranged and how I slowly began to realise that I may have to take the responsibility of facilitating the meeting on Aunty Olga's and Pastor Mark's behalf. I remembered feeling a bit inadequate to fill this role and when I asked Aunty Olga whether or not the meeting will go on, she responded in the affirmative. Her exact words were "you go ahead and meet with him" lol and I responded "ok once you believe I could do it". I needed somebody to believe in me because I really did not believe that I would have been able to do it. Aunty Olga simply responded "yes I believe in you!!!" That was all the encouragement I needed to be convinced that I could do it.
Well...someway, somehow, I did it!
Brother Nico was able to visit Deaf Church, get a small tour of the church and a luncheon meeting with Shevon, Ian and I. I was actually able to interpret good enough for Shevon and Ian to understand what Brother Nico was saying. PRAISE THE LORD! Even more, I took no notes because I was interpreting. Without a worry or care, I went home that Sunday afternoon and relaxed. On the following Monday morning I was able to complete a full report of Brother Nico's visit from memory! I thank God for that!
I am reminded that His strength is made perfect in my weakness!
